Wheels of Thought

It's only when you're tested that you realize who you truly are.
True ?

The curviest roads make the best drivers.
True ?

There are moments in our lives when we find ourselves at crossroads. Afraid of the unknown, confused, without a road map. Of-course we consider going back full circle, giving up on hope, resting on with less. But, some push beyond the fear of bearing it alone, beyond the fear of failing, and beyond the fear of the unknown. Beyond the quiet persistence of dreams. After all it's only when you're tested, you realize who you are, and only when you're tested that you realize the person you can be. And that person, the person you want to be, lies just somewhere on the other side of perseverance, hard work, and belief. And the heartache and fear of the unknown. The choice we make, the path we take, and the person we decide to be at such moments, designs the rest of our lives.

Not until you've faced all the mistakes you've made, you change.
"Change is a whisper. It's a season. It's slow, and quiet, and not very dramatic. But it's up to you."

Life is funny sometimes. It can push pretty hard. But when your plans fail, and when your heart breaks, you've got to make sure you keep breathing, make sure you keep fighting, and make it out alive. And that pain you feel ? That's life. It's there to remind you there's something better out there. Something worth fighting for.
Every now and then, people disappoint you. Sometimes, they step up, they rise above themselves, and sometimes, they fall short.
Chase dreams. Not people.
At times, you feel lost. Like you don't belong. Like you're not good enough. Like you're the only one struggling, frustrated, angry and disappointed. Like you're barely getting by.
But, If you look close enough, you'll find someone fighting through days harder than yours, or someone, struggling to make your days a little less difficult. You'll find hope in the words of kids, in the smiles of the elderly and in the powerful, magical, beautiful parts of life, only, you've to pause, breathe, and open up to them.
Don't downplay your intelligence. Dumb is not cute. Wisdom, integrity and dignity are the true indicators of beauty. Strive to be the best possible version of yourself. And don't let them get you down.

Dream a dream.
Any dream.
Any wish.
Save it in your best smile. And the twinkle of your eye.

Now believe you'll get it. Have faith.
Open your mind to the possibility of having it.
You never know what happens next. Where the next smile comes from. When a new door opens up.
Life is full of magic.
All you've got to do is believe.

Let's say,
One day this dream you'd saved, came true.
Who'll it be standing right next to you ?
Who are those you'd want around ?
If you had a friend you'd never see again what's the last thing you'd say ?

Say it. Life's short. And nothing lasts forever.

Live simply. Speak your heart. Dream big. Be grateful. Choose to see the good stuff. Give love. Spread smiles. Laugh lots.

Be the kind of a person you'd want to meet.

Only Time Will Tell

What are we willing to give ? How much are we willing to risk ? How far are we willing to go ?
Questions constant, yet, unattended.

A dream you've had all your life, ever since you started dreaming, a dream nigh impossible to accomplish, the mob tells you, what if you get a shot at it ?
What if you get admitted to the best institute for a particular competitive course you've always dreamed of ?

Dreams do come true. But dreams don't work unless you do.
"Your dreams define you. Hold on to them. For if they die, life's a bird with a broken wing that cannot fly."
Our lives are synonymous with the lanterns we light on Diwali. Light it up, wait for the hot air to build, and, watch it take off.
So, light the fire in you. The momentum starts building. In time, you'll be ready to let go of the ground.

Too many of us are not living our dreams, because we're living our fears. There will be people undermining you every step of the way. There will be people waiting for you to make one wrong move. There will be hard times. All you have to do is believe in your dream, in yourself, and your capabilities. If you don't believe in yourself, no one ever will. You've got the fire and you're going to let it burn.
Life is constantly testing you for your level of commitment. And life's greatest rewards are reserved for those who show constant and undeterred commitment to act until they achieve.
We're going to have to set our minds ablaze. Open. Free. Explore new horizons. Get rid of everything that is holding us back from an impending rebirth.
Have fun. Party hard. Train harder. Celebrate your individuality.
Don't let anyone dull your sparkle.
Chuck messing with the crooked hypocrites.
Your success will be the only answer you give to all those questioning eyes.
For now, laugh at the confusion. Do your thing. Leave people wondering. Time will tell.

An encounter with simplicity

Isn't it disparaging and enlightening at the same time, that, the only difference between you and the girl next door, or for that matter, your househelp, is the place of your birth ?

Recently, I was introduced to one of my dads personnel, a petite woman, with average features and a pleasant countenance. For some reason, the very sight of  her left me intrigued, and i knew for sure, she was the one my dad was telling me about the other day. " She is the breadwinner for her family" he had said, "the only working member, looking after an entire family of six, by doing a 9am-7pm job (for six days a week) and three tuitions thereafter." She earned a total of 10 Thousand, a month, for all the drudgery. At the age of only 20, just four years older than me, she had seen and overcome troubles that i had merely read about. She made me question my lifestyle. She gave me so much to think about. The simplicity in her appearance, and the confidence in her voice that came from her sheer excellence at work, had caught my heart. Just then, a thought hit me. She would never have spent 2 Thousand, a good 20 percent of her earnings, on getting her hair streaked red, unlike me.
It was a moment of realization.
It finally started to sink in, things my parents had been telling me everyday. Simplicity and elegance, were indeed, striking features of a woman's personality. A well painted face or an extravagant attire wont buy me the more important, and valuable designations in life. There are people much capable than me, working at wages lower than the expenditure at one of my shopping sprees. So, yes, I might have reasons to be thankful, but, not comfortable yet.
"Explore the possibilities, work hard, and if you like expensive stuff, you might as well earn it."
She will remain an inspiration.
Owing to this little pool of thoughts and the fire she lit in me, I had vowed I was going to make the rest of my life, the best of my life, and the difference between me and the thousand other girls next door, would not just be owing to the digits in my dads account, but my capabilities.
